Our Story

Luminous Lens Photography emerged from a shared passion for capturing the ephemeral beauty of life. Founded by Eleanor Vance and Julian Bellweather in the fall of 2010, the studio began as a small, intimate space dedicated to documenting the stories of Asheville, NC, and its surrounding communities. Eleanor, with her background in fine arts and a lifelong love for film photography, brought a unique artistic vision to the venture. Julian, a seasoned event photographer with an eye for detail and composition, complemented Eleanor's artistic flair with his technical expertise.

Initially, Luminous Lens focused primarily on portrait and wedding photography, quickly gaining a reputation for its personalized approach and commitment to capturing authentic moments.
